GALILEE

| The Sea of Galilee as seen from where the Wests used to live. |
Our next stop was the Galilee. On the day we were there, the sea (a little smaller than Lake Tahoe) was an amazing blue (the water is greenish when looking down at it, and not very clear).

| Can you imagine Jesus walking on the water of a stormier sea? |
Not far from this spot, Jesus sat in a fishing boat and taught the crowd. And later went up the hillside and shared the "'Beatitudes", and not far from that spot, miraculously fed the multitudes (where there were easily room for thousands of followers).
Behind Bonnie, sitting at the water's edge, is the ancient dock at Capernaum, which Jesus and the disciples would have used repeatedly while going by boat to Bethsaida and other Galilean towns and villages.

The shore along the Galilee is mostly rocky. Galilee is 702 ft bellow sea level!
